6.28.15

It's definitely summertime.  It's been way too hot and I had to look up the date!
Western wa has been so hot for us! We usually don't get hot until after the fourth of july, but it's been on the high 80s and 90s this week.  Too hot for me! We're lucky and have a couple of window air conditioners, but I still had to be diligent about keeping the house cool, like getting up at 4 in the morning and opening everything up and laying on the couch until it was time to close everything up around 9. Oh well.  Next week is supposed to be hot, too and even hotter in utah!

Keagan went to camp Helaman this week.  First of all, it seems strange that he is old enough!  He turns 16 july 15th!
He loved it! He said it was one of the best experience s of his life and very spiritual.  He was asked to bear his testimony of it today. I was so impressed and proud of him. He's grown up so much! It makes me happy and sad. *sigh* "my baby" He came home exhausted,  but excited to go to the dance. He slept in today until almost 11!

So, let me explain the pictures first
Keagan made himself a meme about a year ago. It showed up on my memories on facebook. It cracks me up. The baby picture is of Keagan when he was about 9 months.

Melissa and Chaz.. I’m sure I will be getting a lot more of those in the next week.

Keagan after Camp Helaman, he was exhausted! You can’t see it really well, but he had quite the little beard going for not shaving a few days.

Keagan, Elder Bing, Mathew at transfer mtgs.

This just made me laugh. Keagan’s hand when I tried to take a nice picture of him wearing his Camp Helaman necklace to church. My kids hate it when I take so many pictures, but later they thank me!

We went up to Tacoma this week, too for transfer mtgs. We didn’t get to stay the whole time because Keagan had to be somewhere at 5:10. (He was going to the movies with his swing dance group from church )  So, it was a little stressful for me because of all the traffic there and back, but a good mtg. I love hearing their testimonies and hearing their musical numbers!

so, an awkward church story.. There is this lady who sometimes comes, but mostly doesn’t. I know that she has some mental issues. Today, Ray walked in and said Hi to her and tried to shake her hand, she very loudly said, DON’T TOUCH ME! and then walked out of the chapel. I felt bad for him! Then in Relief Society... she walked in and walked all around the room until she found a chair, pulled it all by itself at the back and sat down. She seemed very agitated. She kept mumbling to herself. The lesson had started and she loudly said, umm, what is this lesson even on?! Our teacher, Britta Hall, handled it well and very nicely gave her a summary of the lesson. She then asked her, did that answer you question? NO was the reply. .... Someone else quickly made a comment and redirected the lesson.. It was a little tense because of her mumbling and standing up & sitting down you weren’t sure what she was going to do. The person sitting next to me, whispered, is she a member? me – yes, her, is she active? me- kind of.. Luckily it ended with no further incident..

The sacrament mtg was good! Keagan and Mathew bore their testimonies. I was so proud of Keagan (and Mathew) Keagan has grown up so much! It makes me happy.. and a little sad. He is my “Baby”.

Next week we’ll be in Utah, so I’m not sure how much I will be able to write. Be prepared for overdose of Melissa pictures and writings.. And we get to see Jared (Elder) Oliphant!! I’m super excited about that, too!

Love you all!

Hahahahaha, President Williamson could share notes with Bishop Williamson, while Elder Williamson is soon to become Brother Williamson.

That's crazy. Congratulations to Bishop Williamson though.

The heck? Aurora looks freakishly tall in that photo. Did she double in size since I was there?

My letter
First of all, yah to our new bishop and bishopric. If you haven't heard, it's Bishop Jared Williamson,  with counselors Josh Martinson and Dave Hoeveler.  I'm so excited and happy for them! Our new bishop is no surprise to me. He is someone who I've always loved and admired. How do you feel about this Elder williamsons?

I can also hardly believe that that Elder Oliver and Elder Josh Williamson come home in a couple of weeks.  Crazy! I'm going to miss your letters! So I'm saying this to all of you, when you come home, you'd better still keep in touch!

We had fun at Wild waves this week. The weather was perfect!  Sunny, but not too hot. I loved sitting in the sun and visiting with the other moms. My good friend Jennie Klumker came, too. It was a fun day.  I took a picture of the water and sunshine. No worries no swim suits were involved! Ha! I didn't want to see that either. ;)

I did a lot of watching kids this week. Which when it's not all the time, I mostly like it. I like having a house full of kids. (I also like it when they all go home) And I got to have Aurora over! I hadn't seen her for almost 2 months! I think that may of been the longest time going without seeing my niece.

I also cut up 2 flats of strawberries and made jam. Yum! We love our homemade jam!

The best news is that we just decided this week to go visit Melissa over fourth of July weekend.  And to see Carie Warren get remarried.  Her wedding is in Utah July 2. We are leaving July 1 and coming home the 6th,  so it will be a quick trip, but worth it to see Melissa!

We went to visit my step dad last night and my dad today in Elma.

When I was 7, my parents got divorced.  And I didn't see my dad until I found him when I was 22 and married. (That's a really cool story for another time) when I was growing up, I had a different step dad who wasn't very nice. Father's day was always a really hard day for me. I remember crying a lot, but thinking of home teachers and my bishops and ultimately my Heavenly Father as my greatest example and who to look to. Today, I feel very blessed to have a worthy priesthood holder for my husband and two dads. My newish step dad is pretty awesome and my dad in my life again.  We are blessed to have a Heavenly Father who loves and loves us unconditionally!  I'm very grateful!

I love hearing from you all and love you and pray for you!

Sunshine! Summer is here! Yah! It has been so beautiful here lately! School got out on Friday. I worked until Wed. It has been nice having some time off.

Wed. I had a job at one of the elementary schools and I got to do field day. It was fun. It was sunny and in the 70s. The only problem was that I wasn’t prepared for it. I needed a hat, sunscreen, and sensible shoes. But I still had fun! I got to supervise the field hockey in the morning and in the afternoon the soccer. At Pleasant Glade they have several fun activities for the kids to do, a small obstacle course that they squirted water at them at the end, bowling, badminton, volleyball, tug of war, soccer, field hockey, those bouncy balls that you can sit on with a handle and bounce (who knows what you call them..) bubbles, a huge parachute, Frisbees, a huge jenga game, the cup stacking game, hula hoops, and loud speakers with fun music blaring and a popsicle and water station. There may have been more activities that I couldn’t see or forgot. It was fun that the kids had about 2 hours to come and go where they wanted to go. I wanted to take pictures of the beautiful grassy area and fun activities, but with all the school kids around, I didn’t want to look like a creeper. haha

Tomorrow, a group of us (the Martins, Hoevelers, Cheney kids, and Jennie Klumker) are going to wild waves. It is a lot cheaper if you go in June and with a group. It is supposed to be in the low 80s. I think it will be fun! I will mostly just sit around and watch the kids and visit with my friends. I’m hoping and planning on not getting burned! I’ve got all the precautions in order.. lots of sunscreen and a hat.

Tues, Wed, and Thur. I’m watching Kaleb Vest and Aurora. I’m so excited to see Aurora. I haven’t seen her since our trip to Utah. This is one of the longest times that I’ve gone with out seeing her. And the week after that Keagan is going to camp Helaman!! That seems so strange to me. I’m hoping to get a lot of organizing done this summer... we’ll see! My spare room. You can barely walk into it. I need to get it cleaned so I can have visitors!

Pictures:
My back yard. I love it, especially in the summertime.

Preschool graduation. My cute preschoolers. Preschool graduation was on Tuesday. They sang some cute songs for their parents and got a little diploma. It was fun! And the weather was perfect!
I know, I know, I say this all the time sorrynotsorry.. but I love my rms and I love when I get to hear from them when they go home. I got this fun picture of Melissa and Oliphant hanging out. He’s going to BYU and just moved to Provo.
Melissa and Chaz posted on facebook that they’re in a relationship... must be getting serious. It’s a strange place in life to be, the mother of someone so old. We met him in April. He seems nice.
And my little friend Cruz. He’s in my preschool class and sometimes I watch him. He is so cute. I asked him if he still took naps, he told me no, but wanted to come cuddle with me, this after just a few minutes. I think he still takes naps.

Today was another ward conference. We have 2 more. All in the Yelm building. One of the best things is being able to sustain the church officers. It was a little strange and sad to not have Elder Perry in the list of names we heard.
Primary was really good today. They sang the song “The Holy Ghost” I loved hearing about the song and hearing the children sing it. The spirit was really strong. I love the line “And makes our hearts rejoice.”

The Holy Ghost
When Christ was on the earth,
He promised he would send
The Holy Ghost to comfort us,
Our true, eternal friend.
The Holy Spirit whispers
With a still small voice.
He testifies of God and Christ
And makes our hearts rejoice.

Have a great week everyone! I love you all!

6.7.15

It is so warm here today and lately.. for WA. Today it's in the upper 80s! When we got in our car after church (4:00, the thermometer in our car said 108!!)

I'm usually a Nazi keeping my house cool by opening everything up in the morning and closing everything before it starts getting hot, but my mom and Thom came to help us work in the yard (which I'm very grateful for!) And we had extra people over so the door was opened and shut all day long, so it got pretty hot in the house. But we have a beautiful flower bed now. I wish I would of taken a before picture. It was bad! Lots if weeds!

And today Keagan has a school project.. making granola bars which we have to turn the oven on for.
Anyways.. enough complaining!

Especially after the lesson I got to teach today in primary. It was on the 10 lepers and being thankful for all we have. It's amazing how many blessings we have. There is no way we could thank our Heavenly Father for everything we have!

Mathew Cheney turned 16 this past week.  Can you believe it? Keagan turns 16  on July 15th!  Sis. Cheney just posted a pic of mathew with all the great men Who stood in the circle to help ordain him, I added that pic. It's bro. Martinson, elders Larson and short, Matthew,  his gpa, bro. Wenshoff,  and Alexander, back row, pres turner, warning and moss, bishop, bro. Shoop, cheney, hoeveler,  and Stringfellow.

Last week of school!  Whoohoo!  My preschool ends on Tuesday.  We have our little graduation. So fun. But I'm also ready for a little break and summer time!

Another one bites the dust.. our rm, jordan torres just got engaged this week and will be getting married October 24th in the Las Vegas temple. We are hoping to go!

And here are our current missionaries, Elder Short and Elder Larson.
Have a great week everyone!
Love ya!
