7.26.15

Hi! This week is really a blur to me.. Its why I take pictures, so I can remember what I do..
Bro. shoop and I got new phones last night. I'm tryingn to get used to the new keyboard. I guess I was spoiled by my old one.. It autocorrected me all the time, like i to I automatically and the apostrophes in my words. It makes a big difference in he'll... Just saying.. ;)

I had one day where I was a little sad. Melissa s bday was this week.
It was the first time I wasn't with her on her day and it just made me a little nostalgic and missing her. I also got some very sad news that day that my favorite uncle vic cant get his lung transplant and therefore has been given a year to live. Its always nice to know the eternal perspective of things.. But it still makes it sad for us who are left. I'm really worried about my dad. He's not taking it well. Neither of  them are members
.
Now to happier things... Bro. Shoop has been working 4  9s and then friday he gets off at 1130. We love it! Friday, I was babysitting the Rosado kids, had Aurora over, and had the 3 missionaries over for lunch, and Josh! I loved it. I love having a house full of fun people. Josh stayed a little while longer and visited with us. So fun to hear some stories about his mission and hear him talk about some girls!

That evening Bro Shoop and I went out and got pedicures. Oh my goodness! They felt so nice! Ive got bro shoop hooked on them now! Haha

Today it rained! It was so nice! It has been so dry here. I was a little sad at first because it rained during church and i only saw it for a few seconds, but luckily it rained again after church, too.  I opened the door and just watched it and smelled it. Ahhh.  #truewashatonian. To give you some insight of how dry its been, there was a news article saying oh, the irony... We haven't had rain on a weekend since the end of April and the last weekend of july is typically the driest weekend in wa.
Anyways.. I sound old talking about the weather... Haha

The last two pics or memes came from lds missionaries on
facebook.

And keagan in the Georges tree when we went to go pick Apples.
Love you all!

7.19.15

This week has been beautiful and sunny again.. a little too hot for my liking! It is supposed to cool down this week. Yah! (To mid 70s)

We went to my moms one day this week and Keagan worked a little for her and I picked some blackberries. They're still not a lot of them, but enough to get a bowl full. Super early this year because of all our sun!

We also went to Hicks lake one afternoon.  It was beautiful.  My phone camera didn't really pick up its beauty and mt. Rainer in the background.

The big thing this week was of course, Keagan.  He turned 16! Holy cow!! He had his first date on Saturday.  It was pretty cute! He met this girl Rebecca from Dupont,  she's in the Lakewood stake and they met at the dance festival.  We had to drive up to get her and drop her off. They went to lakefair with Austin Falter and his date. When we picked them up, they were just chatting away, so fun to listen to! Then when we dropped her off, her mom was outside,  so Keagan talked to her a little and then the dad came out. (Ray and I were in the car watching it all) And the dad comes out with his his arms folded to his chest just stands there. I was laugh so hard. I remember this kind of thing when melissa was first dating... anyways, then Keagan just takes a step or two backwards,  slowly, and another baby step backwards.  I wish I could of recorded it, it just made me laugh.. so much.. I could tell he was trying to get out of the situation,  but to not be rude. Well, the date was a success and all had fun! And poor keagan, he's been teased SO MUCH! Picture of him and his date at lakefair.

But most importantly,  he was ordained a priest today. Next week he gets to bless the sacrament.  It was great to have Ray ordain him and several people that we love in the circle.

Aerikas farewell talk was today and she did great. She leaves in a week and a half.
Josh s talk was awesome.  (No big surprise! ) it's so fun to see how much he's grown. I love home coming talks!
And so fun to see him and talk with him a little more today. We have the Missionaries coming this week to eat and Josh is controlled too. I'm excited about that! Now what to make?!

What are some of your favorite meals?

We (mostly Ray) tried to get the tv on the wall, but at 1145 last night, I told him to stop and figure it out Monday. But I do love to see him and keagan working together,  I snuck that picture if them.

Two of those pictures with the sisters and elders came from a Facebook post from Lds missionaries (I think that's their name) but anyways,  I really like them
The elders one has the scripture on it. The right hand corner of each makes me laugh!

Love ya all!

7.12.15

This was a good week, although a little tiring.

We left Utah monday morning @7 and got home @830 p.m. So, not too bad. We did stop for a little bit right before Portland because we didn't want to be stuck in traffic.

Tuesday we worked on re arranging the living room. I like to do that every so often. Re arranging is something that I've liked to do, it just gets boring being the same for a while. I had a friend in high school that teased me, saying,  if there were a way you could re arrange your things on the ceiling,  you would!

So, my living room right now is driving me crazy because it's not put back together.  We tore out the corner shelf where the tv was and hung the tv on the wall that's by the garage. But,  in doing that we have all this "stuff" laying around. We also got rid of our China hutch and just yesterday got 2 new shelves, so hopefully tomorrow I'll get it all put back together.  Pictures next week.

Yesterday we drove to see my favorite uncle, vic. He's my dad's younger brother.  My cousin,  Heidi, was visiting from Maryland.  We just got some bad news that my uncle has lung problems (I can't remember the technical term for it..) But he needs a lung transplant.  If he doesn't get one he only has a year or so to live.  This was really hard to hear. Especially because he ha always been the one family member in such good health.
He is the one on my dad's side that knows a lot of family history.  So, I asked him family stories and recorded him on my phone. I've heard him tell the stories before,  but I could listen to them over and over. He's very good about giving lots of little details and making it fun and interesting.  I was a little worried because he has to be on oxygen now and I didn't want to tire him out. He told me he was prepared and turned his oxygen up more so he could talk more... The pictures are of my aunt chris, him (vic) and me. And my cousin Heidi and me. My aunt calls us twins.. when we had our hair cut the same, we really did look so much a like. We're only a few months apart.

Family history is so important to get, you never know when you're not going to be able to get it from your relatives. I'm trying to get more from my relatives!

Today, at church, I was so happy to see Josh Williamson. I will have to say, he looked a little lost. He said it was the first time he'd slept in a room by himself!  Haha I tried to get hi. To come with me to gospel doctrine,  but he went with the missionaries!  :)
Mikala Tilleman who recently came ho.e from a mission spoke today. She did a fabulous job!
There was also a missionary fireside tonight at the oly stake center. It was wonderful.  Yanni was one the people who bore his testimony.  One of the recent converts related getting baptized to having surgery.  She said, baptism is wonderful,  just like having a surgery is wonderful.  But just like surgery, there is still a little pain and hardship afterway, but in the end it is good.

I'm grateful for the gospel!  I love it and know it's true. It brings me great peace and happiness.
I love you all!!!

Oh, the other picture is one that Elder pyne s family sent me this week of when we went to visit them with Jared Oliphant.

Love ya!

7.5.15 part 2

As I said, so much fun hanging with melissa and some with Chaz. He's pretty funny and it was nice we got to spend more time with him and know him a little bit better.  So here's some pictures of them.
And Melissa and keagan wrestling.  He's so big now, no challenge.  Haha
And Melissa and chaz had matching 4th of July shirts. Aren't they cute.. :)

4th of July was so cool! We got up early to go see the hot air balloon festival in. Provo. They were awesome!  I could go on and on.. but I'm "trying" to be brief.

Then we walked to go see the parade. It was very cool! Lots of bands, floats,  and even some big floating balloons that are character s, like curious george.

Okay,  the coolest part...
The provo mission had their missionaries in the parade!  So, first how awesome is that! And then everyone stood up, clapped and cheered for them. I got all misty eyed! It was so cool!! Then, I looked at Keagan and said, wait isn't Luis Hernandez serving in provo (he's from olympia 1 ward), so we started looking for him! And saw him!!! I screamed, "Luis!!" He saw us , got this huge smile and we were waving wildly at each other. Keagan was laughing at me 'cause I was emotional and saying. We saw Luis! Afterwards,  I thought, I guess I should of said, Elder Hernandez. ..
The only sad thing was no handshake or pictures.

The other exciting part of our visit was seeing some of our missionaries.  With our visit being so spur of the moment and the holiday weekend we didn't get to see as many, but the quality was awrsome! We got to see Jared Oliphant twice, Adam Chichoski,  and Dallin Majors. And meeting Oliphant s mom and 2 of his sisters and Elder Hunter Pyne s family.  (He comes home in August)

We actually went on a beautiful drive near Sundance and alpine (provo. Canyon) with Oliphant today and visited pyne s family with him. They had served together. It was so fun! I seriously love that Oliphant kid! I have like at least 50 more pictures. ..

This one just makes me laugh.. this is us true to life.. Keagan on his phone, Ray yawning and me trying to see something.. pretending I don't need glasses..

And We got to see Bro. Shoop's friends the Millers that live in Orem now. They used to live in PA.

Ok, I've written way too much.
And we have to get up early and drive home tomorrow.  *sigh*
I love you all!

7.5.15

First, a shout out to Elder Josh Williamson and Elder Oliver! I'm proud of you both! Good job on your missions later this week. . I'm going to miss your letters! Good luck to both of you!

This week has been so fun and amazing that I don't even know where to start and I'm going to TRY to keep it brief. I could probably go on about each day for a letters worth. So I'll just go in chronological order.

Wednesday morning we left at 330 am! Crazy, I know!! There were a bunch of Lacey 2 women meeting in Draper at 6 for a girls night out to celebrate Carie Warren getting married.  We hardly stopped and made it to the wrong restaurant at 615, so I got there by 630, not too bad! It was me, melissa, bethany hills!! , carie Warren,  April hoeveler,  Kelly Warren (caries sis) dedra cheney, and marie martin. I was beyond excited to see bethany,  too! And how fun that melissa was one of the "women" for our girls night out.

The next day we hung out with melissa a lot and went to caries wedding.  That is the next couple of pictures.  Carie looked beautiful! And it was so fun visiting with dear friends! We got a mini Lacey 2 reunion picture.  And then a picture of Ray, Courtland (old bishop now :)) and Greg martin. These 3 have always been the best of friends and sure love each other! We're going to miss the Erickson family as they are moved now to utah. Then Luke warren, Zane hills,  and caleb hoeveler were sitting there beside them. It was so cute, so we said to them future bishopric!

We stayed in a hotel in Lehi.  It has been so fun being closer to Melissa and hanging out with her. I miss her soo much. I miss her sweetness and her sass! I have always loved the sweet bond that her and keagan have had! She hugs on him and yeases him constantly.  He pretends that he doesn't like it, but he LOVE it!

Ok, I'm going to make a part 2...
