5.29.16

can hardly wait for school to be out and enjoy some summertime! Only one more week of seminary (I drive Keagan to the church), two more weeks of preschool, and three weeks of school!
We were going to have 5 trees taken down in our backyard. The person doing it is a friend of ours and started doing it and it ended up being too big of a job for him. The first tree had a little bit of rot in the middle, so it didn't come down where he wanted and narrowly missed his truck. It was such a blessing it didn't do more damage!

The missionaries happened to stop by when the logs were being drug out to the front. The two first ones are being transferred on Tuesday.
I haven't felt well the last couple of days and was super bummed to not go to church today. I really hate missing. (And I was sad to not see Katie Stringfellow and meet her boyfriend!)
But I went to a baptism tonight. Yani's sister and brother in law were baptized. It was so beautiful. The spirit was so strong! They got up and bore their testimonies and shared their experience of coming into the church. It was awesome!
I watched a lot of BYU tv today staying home from church and one little quote that stuck out to me was by Alex Boye. He was talking about how sometimes he doesn't know what is coming next in life or how to do it, but, he said something like, I do everything I do, With the help of the Lord, he's the most creative!
Love you all!
Have a good week!

5.2218

I'm not even sure what I did this week..
It has been rainy and a little dreary this week, but not enough for me to not get a sunburn on Friday when I did playground duty for a couple hours at Lakes elementary school. My poor white skin..

I had a ward conference today at the Yelm building. Only one more this year. This primary was good. But they have lots of challenges, they have quite a few kids with special needs. They do such a good job with all their challenges. It is a little noisy in there, but the spirit was still strong. One little girl is in the sunbeams class and had Down's syndrome. She was all over the place, but so cute and sweet!!
This years theme in primary is "I know the scriptures are true". Sis Turner tells them the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace and how they obeyed their parents and Heavenly Father by refusing to bow down to the idol. I love how the children are so into this story. Every single time. (I am, too). She asks the children how they can liken this to themselves. They will probably never be thrown in a fiery furnace for standing up for their beliefs, but could be made fun of. She then tells them a story from the friend about a boy who is made fun of because he won't look at bad pictures on a phone.
It is from the Oct 2015 Friend, Standing Tall, if you wanted to read it. Here is the link. https://www.lds.org/friend/2015/10/standing-strong?lang=eng

And it wouldn't be complete if I didn't send a picture of Hazel ;)

5.15.16

I feel blessed. I send this silly little letter to a few people now. As I start to type your names and it comes up, it makes me thankful for each one of you. I love when I get random texts, emails, snapchats, etc. from everyone. It makes my day!!

This Sat. Was a huge birthday for so many missionary friends of mine. Two of our elders had a birthday and Jesse and Josh And the old guy of the group 😉Jared Oliphant.
And today Hazel is one month old!

This is how I spend a lot of my time.. FaceTime with melissa and Hazel staring at that cute grandbaby of ours. And melissa is pretty cute too. 😉

This week I had a couple of jobs at the schools. One story broke my heart! I had a kindergarten group and one little boy was sad and trying not to cry because he told me, his mom went to jail last night. It was all I could do to not cry with him. I had to redirect the class and joke around with him to get his mind off it. A count your blessings moment..
I think they may be done with a lot of construction work on our street, but not quite on all the streets around us. It has been a little crazy!! They keep closing our road and we never know when.. But our road is newly paved now and looks nice! There were big trucks up and down the street! It was so loud and shook the house. It felt like an earthquake. It even knocked a picture off my wall!

(They dug up our yard for a water pipe, supposed they are going to "fix" it by seeding it..)

A sure sign of getting older.. Church was really good today, but I can't really remember any specific thing. I went to our ward's sacrament mtg and then a ward conference in Yelm.
Did you know that Sister Copin is a twin and her twin sister died when they were 24?

I'm grateful for the atonement for the peace and comfort this gives me.

Pres Copin did say when we pray and read our scriptures every day and go to church everything else will fall into place. The primary answers work!! I believe that to be true, too!

I LOVE you all!
Have an awesome week!

5.08.16

I hope you all enjoyed talking to your moms and families! I love hearing how excited families are to talk to their missionaries! I talked to a few moms today that just talked or were going to, exciting stuff!

We were gone for a couple of Sunday's in Utah. And I may of been gone for ward conference before.. I missed my little ward. It has gotten so tiny! But I love our ward.
Today we went out to my moms after church for dinner. My brother, Eric and his wife Brandy came and my sister Cindy and Aurora. We had a fun time together, laughing and teasing each other. We did FaceTime with melissa. And video chat with my other niece Liz.
There was lots of wrestling and tickling..

We also had too much fun playing with snapchat and their silly filters...

And as always.. I love Hazel!! I feel blessed that I get to FaceTime with them so much.

And it has been beautiful here lately! I got a couple pictures on the way home from Shelton.

Can you see the Capitol in the background? From I-5 in my car.
Love you all!

5.01.16

Heaven, I've been in heaven. All we have done is hold and take care of Hazel.

She makes cute faces in her sleep. And she likes to sleep with her arm up by her face.

And we got to go through a session in Provo city temple. That was pretty cool. It was so busy. We got there @915 and we barely missed the 10 session, we sat in the chapel until the 11 session. But, it was worth it. It was beautiful!  Funny story.. All the workers are new there.. They gave several of…

So many wedding. It was fun to see.
We leave Tuesday for home.
Love you!
