8.16.15 part 2

The letter that never got sent..

This week was so much fun and we did so many things. But with Melissa and Chaz getting engaged.. that was the top story!

One of the things we did was go to Ocean Shores and spend the night! It was such a fun weekend! Friday, I babysat until 1. We wanted to leave to go to the beach dance by 2. That day it was pouring rain. It hasn't rained in months and it was thunder and lightning and raining buckets! I was a little worried about going to the beach with it being so nasty out, but the weather report said that it should be clearing up by 4 at the beach. (just in time for the dance, lots of youth and leaders must of been praying :) )

Around 1:15, I said, let's pack a bag, in case we spend the night at the beach.. if there is anything available. I don't think we have ever done something that spur of the moment before, but it was fun to do.

Around 1:30 is when Chaz called Ray and asked for our blessing to marry Melissa! So, it was a little crazy getting ready and going to the dance/beach. And he hadn't got her plane ticket yet!

So we drove to Ocean Shores with all this wedding talk!
We got to Ocean Shores, dropped Keagan off and started looking for a hotel.

2 weeks earlier, I had looked into some hotels in Ocean Shores and they were all booked or over $200! I was hoping because of the weather that there might be some cancelations.

The first one we checked, over $200. We drove through town and kept seeing No vacancy. Then we pulled into the hotel by the shark in Ocean Shores. (sorry, I can't remember the name of it) And it had a 2 queen bed  room. And a partial Ocean view.

One of the other reasons we wanted to have some place to stay was that the first pre-season game of the Seahawks was playing.
We went across the street from our hotel and had pizza and watched part of the game on the big screen t.v.

A little while before the dance got over we went out to the beach and saw the sunset. It was a little cold, but nice out.

The next morning we had an awesome breakfast! The hotel had everything you could think of for breakfast! Sausage, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, fruit, yogurt, you name it.

When we finally checked out, the shark was right next to our car. We couldn't believe what we were seeing! All these people gathered in their Seahawk gear and cheering for the Seahawks. Marshawn Lynch's mom was there and the trophy. We later found out that it was fan fest in Ocean Shores. Perfect day to be there!

 The video of the fans!

All the little shops had Seahawks stuff. And the green area had little pop ups and little stands selling things like a fair. So much Seahawk stuff. So fun! There were fun activities to do and lots of Seahawks vehicles!

One of the cute little shops cracked me up, only in small town can you put up a sign in your shop, saying, "Family emergency, closed until further notice."

After exploring the little shops, we headed to the beach. There were lots of people (for Ocean Shores beaches) and it was sunny!

It was a great and relaxing weekend in Ocean Shores.
The next morning we went to pick up Melissa from the airport and that exciting day!

8.9.15

It's been a good week.

We've had Adam Chichoski and his friend from the watac mission stay with us a few days while they visit people and places from the mission. Its been so fun! I'm ready for more to come visit!

Transfer mth was Tuesday. As Iv'e mentioned before, its a great mtg.. But sooo long! It started at 230 and didn't get over until 645ish!! Crazy! 22 missionaries bore their testimonies to go home! I knew 4 of them well who went home and was familar with a couple more. Sadly, I'm not as close to anyone going home soon.
Elder Harward and Chicoski. Harward was one of Chicoski's favorite comapanions
Elder Pyne going home the next day pictured with Keagan. We love Pyne!!
.
Fuller! going home also. We have some great dress up pictures of him. And he had great stories of stake dances when he served with us in our ward. We also lovingly said about him.. Fuller.. he's never full. ;)
Elder Short going home from our ward with Keagan. As you can tell, it was super sunny out!

And Elder Larson that still has a long time to go, but served in our ward for 6 months.

Keagan went on another date this week, doubling with matthew cheney. Bro. Cheney asked them if they wanted to go on a death removal with them.. They did! So.. The picture is all of them with the dead body.. Eww. Keagans date is the closest to the front. Tyanin opdahl was his date from oly 1. They had a lot of fun! After they went to meconis Downtown, they walked the pier and went to the fountains.

This weekend was stake conference. It was so good and uplifting. We had Elder Hamila (sp?) from the 70. He was such a good teacher and speaker. I love it when people give you personal experience along with scriptures and really teach you or the spirit really does. It was awesome. He taught about family counsel, ward counsels and how we should Counsel with our Heavenly Father and how he is the best counselor! It was really good and the spirit was so strong. Today was just awesome, too. There was a man who spoke who has come back after many years of being inactive. It gives more hope of someday my siblings coming back some day.

I love this Gospel! I'm so grateful for it in my life! I love you all and so thankful for you.. And your service and my personal connection tl each one of that I love so much!!

Have a great week!

8.2.15

This week
I took lots of pictures and did lots of things. So I actually have something to write about..

I babysat the Rosado children most of the week. Olivia is 7 and Cruz is 3.5. They are fun active children. The kids are pretty good. They are used to doing things constantly.. So we went to the apple cider mill, swimming at timberline, and the pt. Defiance zoo.

I haven't been to the zoo in years! It was a lots of fun.. But super hot outside! We were able to sit front and center and see one of their cute shows which showed a lot different animals.

Those kids wore me out this week. (But in a good way)
And I got a mild case of shingles last week that were really hurting my right side. I don"t think the heat was helping either. I don't like to complain... But I'm done with the hot weather!!
We finished off the day with a trip to McDonalds and ice cream cones!

Saturday was Bro. Shoop and my 23rd wedding anniversary. We had gone on a bigger date last week ( costing more $) so we kept it lower key and enjoyed spending time together. We love going garage sale ing. So we did a little of that until it was too hot.. Which was only 1030 or so. We just drove around looking, but mostly looking at houses and what we could some day do to our house.

We've had some plumbing issues. Eww
So Bro. Alan Bowles said he would come over and help on Saturday. We couldn't really say no to that with him being so generous to help,so Ray spent a few hours in the afternoon doing that while i took a nap! (so I wouldn't be grouchy...)

That evening (still Sat.) we went on a little adventure (after running to the store) trying to see the sunset more clearly.. It was beautiful and we ended up downtown. So romantic.. With keagan as our third wheel. Haha.  We had fun walking the boardwalk and sitting at the fountains. It was beautiful!

I love going to church on sundays and feeling the spirit. I've been trying to prepare myself more so I can get more out of church. With only having Keagan at home and church at 1, its been nice to ready and slowly get ready. And sleep in!

And yah another missionary out to write to! Aerika Corrigan is at the mtc now!

Love you all!
We pray for all of you often!
Have a great week!

A funny Keagan story 8.2.15

I almost forgot.. This had me laughing so hard! So, Friday was a blue moon. It was all over social media and the news, see the blue moon. It only happens every 2 years or so..

So Friday night ray had to work. I had to go pick him up. Keagan wanted to come with me to see the blue moon. I didnt say anything to him for a couple reasons.. I couldn't quite remember what it meant.. And i wanted him to come with.. So we're driving along.. And he finally sees the moon. He says THATS IT?! ITS JUST A MOON. ITS NOT BLUE?!

Me, oh yah.. I think it means a full moon twice in a month. It doesn't happen very often.
Him..  I CAME WITH YOU TO SEE A FULL MOON... grumble grumble...

I'm just dying laughing. So while we're waiting for ray,he asks to park so we can take a picture of it. It was a beautiful clear sky and moon. This picture is what he posted on facebook. I died laughing...
